Let me first start this off by saying I’m a fan of Two and Half Men, I like Charlie Sheen and I’ve met Charlie Sheen more than once.
However this whole fiasco which has transpired over the last few weeks is really starting to bother me.
Today Warner Brothers fired Charlie Sheen.
If this was a surprise to you, maybe you haven’t been paying close enough attention. Maybe you don’t care? Maybe Charlie Sheen can do no wrong for you? Then again maybe you don’t require proof that God exists. Maybe you’re not Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones and the thousands of other people who work on or in relation to this show and depend on it for their livelihoods. Not to mention the millions of fans who love and support the show to the delight of the network, ad reps and others pocketbooks.
There seems to be lots of things that people are not talking about or just aren’t noticing.
Number one: Through all of this, has Charlie Sheen taken even the slightest consideration of the aforementioned co-workers, fans and the like?
It seems to me it’s only about him. After 8 years of working side by side all these great and talented people , he decides to throw all of them under the bus? Fellow actor Angus T. Jones makes $300,000 per episode. Does Charlie give a flying F bomb about Angus? How about all the other actors who make guest appearances on the show or would be making their first appearance and hoping to get their big break? Does Charlie Sheen care about any of these hard working people?
Charlie Sheen makes almost 2 Million per episode. He is the highest paid actor on TV. I believe he also has millions in store from syndication – and he’s complaining about his job. Has Charlie seen the news in the last 2 years? Millions of people in the country are out of work. Is it just me or is it insulting to hear this guy complaining about his bosses and whining about being underpaid?
Speaking of his bosses; Chuck Lorre who created and produces the show is an extremely talented and funny writer. He along with so many other people who create the content of “Men” every week are responsible for the material which is so funny. Congratulations to Charlie for remembering his lines and hitting his marks but I’m not sure how he came to the conclusion he was working with “tin cans”.
While I agree that it’s Charlies personal life off screen and he can do whatever he wants, it was his behavior (like so often before) that landed him in the hospital in NYC and California this last few months. He is a public figure. He knows it. It actually doesn’t require a team of Navy Seals to protect you from the media when you’re a partying celebrity. There’s plenty of sex, drugs and rock and roll in Hollywood every year. It’s just done more discreetly. Advice to Charlie: Maybe not hire so many “professionals” only looking to exploit your trysts for their three minutes of fame.
Drugs. I’m probably going out on a limb here but am I the only person who thinks Charlie Sheen is a meth addict? From his series of interviews this past week it seemed obvious that this once egomaniac has now become a full blown megalomaniac, maybe from Meth use. Let’s look at some of the symptoms of Meth Addiction:
- Incessant talking
- Blaming others
- False sense of confidence and power
- Clenching jaw
- Seldom smile
- Avoid family and normal friends
- Abnormally high amounts of energy
- Paranoia
- Obsessive perverse sexual behavior
- Nervous twitching
- Anxiousness
- Moodiness
- Irritability
- Grinding Teeth
- Delusions of grandeur
- Aggressive behavior
Do you see Charlie Sheen in any of these symptoms? From someone who’s been around a Meth addict - I do.
Charlie has coined a new word for Porn Stars like Bree Olsen (who has done hundreds of hardcore sex scenes). They are now called “Goddesses”. The best thing these Goddesses could do right now is defect from the Sheen entourage and start doing interviews on their own. Let the public know they are worried about Charlie – because I’ll bet they are. I’m sure these girls are deathly afraid of losing their new found lifestyle, however not only would that be helpful to Charlie but it might even raise the status of Porn Stars in general.
It’s been fascinating to watch the Charlie Sheen show this week. However as entertaining as his Charlie-isms are; “Winning” , “Tiger Blood etc, the gaunt faced and manic author seemed to unravel and play right into the hands of Warner Brothers / CBS.
Sheens legendary partying and womanizing which has been much glorified by the character of Charlie Harper once had allure and mystique. We could only wonder what it was like to be Charlie . Now we know and the reality isn’t pretty. The party’s over.
